Check a business
Enter a WBWO number to see whether a business is certified, when it was last audited and how long its certificate is valid. Checking is free, and you don’t need an account.
What a WBWO record tells you
A certified record confirms that
- The business is legally registered in the country shown
- Its owners and directors passed identity checks and sanctions screening
- It passed an independent audit on the date shown
- Mid-sized and large businesses showed their tax returns and accounts
- It signed the WBWO Code of Conduct
It doesn’t tell you
- Whether the business can pay you, or how much credit to give it
- The quality of its products or services
- That a particular deal or invoice is genuine
- Anything that has changed since the moment you checked
What each result means
- Certified member
- The business is a member in good standing and its certificate is valid until the date shown.
- Certification lapsed
- The business was certified but didn’t renew, or didn’t pass its renewal audit. Treat its certificate as no longer valid.
- No record
- No member has that number. Check for typing mistakes first. If it still doesn’t match, the certificate may be fake.
