Dispute mediation

When a trade between members goes wrong, WBWO mediation helps both sides reach an agreement they can live with, usually within 60 days and for far less than court would cost.

What you get

  • A trained, neutral mediator from a different country from both parties
  • Online sessions, so nobody has to travel
  • A written settlement agreement for both sides to sign
  • A free first session, then fixed fees shared between the parties

How it works

  1. Request mediation

Either member can ask. We contact the other side within 3 working days.

  2. Both sides agree to mediate

Members agree when they join to try mediation before going to court.

  3. Sessions

The mediator hears each side separately, then together.

  4. Settlement

If you reach agreement, the mediator writes it up for both of you to sign.

  5. If you don’t agree

You’re free to go to arbitration or court. Refusing to take part, or breaking a signed settlement, can affect certification.

Questions

Is mediation binding?
The process isn’t. A settlement you both sign is a contract and can be enforced like one.
Is it confidential?
Yes. Nothing said in mediation can be used against either side later.
